The activities that were commenced in 1986 in form of family members partnership and with production of mosaic stone from limestone brought out NİĞTAŞ Ltd. Şti. in 1996 as a result of the intensive works that were carried out for ten years. In consequence of the investments made in production of either calcite raw material or micronized calcite, NİĞTAŞ still has 1.250.000 ton/year raw material, 150.000 ton/year granule calcite, 250.000 ton/year calcite micronized with dry grinding method and 50.000 ton/year micronized calcite surface covering capacity.Although the reserves of calcareous stone (lime stone) whose chemical formula is CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) and which is raw material of calcite that is in position of industrial mineral and used in several sectors like paper, plastics, dye, ceramics, glass, are highly widespread and plentiful in Turkey, according to the official reports, Niğde involves the richest and whitest formations in the country.
